Financial skills matter. And when students take the lead in sharing them with their peers, the impact can be powerful.
That’s exactly what happened at Ulladulla High School during their recent Financial Literacy Day.
Organised by a small group of students with support from teacher (and Community Bank volunteer Director) Michael Ramsden, the event gave students a chance to engage with practical money management skills in a way that is real and relevant.
Sessions covered budgeting, decision-making and everyday financial literacy. But it wasn’t just about the content. The day was completely student-led. From coordinating the logistics to preparing and serving a curry lunch for everyone, the organisers created something that left a lasting impression.
Our Community Engagement Manager Caz, attended the event and said it was a perfect example of youth-led impact.
“These students didn’t just show up. They created something meaningful for their peers. It was thoughtful, hands-on and full of energy. And the curry? So good".
"We’re proud to support opportunities like this that give students real-life and practical skills”, she said.
We congratulate the student organisers, Michael Ramsden and the wider school community for bringing the day to life.
