Learning that could save a life
Community Bank South Coast's Community Engagement Manager Caz Boland, recently headed along to the Ulladulla Youth Driver Training day, a practical road-safety event helping local young drivers prepare for life on the road.
It was a real community effort. Firefighters, police and paramedics came together to walk young drivers through what to do if they ever find themselves in an accident, from staying safe at the scene to how the emergency services respond. Local Rotary volunteers kept everyone fuelled with a BBQ throughout the day.
For a new driver, knowing how to act in those first critical moments after a crash can make all the difference. A day like this gives them that knowledge in a hands-on, memorable way, taught by the very people who turn up when things go wrong.
By all accounts it was a great day and a reminder of how much the Ulladulla community pulls together to look after its young people.
