Safer beach days

A popular Bawley Point beach now has important safety equipment close by, thanks to community support and a practical local project focused on helping people when it matters most.


Community Bank South Coast customers can be proud of the installation of a defibrillator and shark attack kits at Bawley Point, with the project recently shared at a Bawley Point Kioloa Termeil Community Association meeting.


Community Engagement Manager Caroline Boland attended the meeting to talk about the role of the community banking model and the support behind the equipment.

“Bawley Point is such a well-loved beach, so it was wonderful to see how grateful the community was to have these devices installed. Projects like this are practical, local and genuinely important. They are about making sure people have access to the right equipment if something happens", Caroline said.

The new safety equipment will support locals and visitors who use the beach, giving the community extra peace of mind in a busy coastal location.


For Community Bank South Coast, the project is a strong example of what community banking can help make possible.

“When people choose to bank with us, it helps us support projects that look after local communities. This is one of those projects that may sit quietly in the background, but if it is ever needed, it could make an enormous difference", Caz said.
